Dear Cesar,
You can change your .vmdrc script to invoke stty or you
can use xmodmap to set the delete keys for your X-Windows session. This
is really an issue with your system's X-Windows setup, not specifically
VMD. The stty command is probably the easiest thing to use, you can
just invoke it from your .vmdrc like this:
stty erase ^H
or
stty erase ^?
Depending on which keys you want to be erase...
Alternately, you could setup TkCon with your VMD and ignore the
regular VMD console except when reading output:
http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd/script_library/scripts/tkcon/
TkCon allows you to use the up/down arrows and has syntax highlighting
and other features, so its more powerful in several ways...
