Dear VMD-L,
We've just posted VMD 1.8 beta 2 on the VMD web site for
people to download and test:
http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Development/Download/download.cgi?PackageName=VMD
Here are some of the key changes since VMD 1.8 alpha 29:
- The new test version includes new GUI components, most notable
is the change from FLTK 1.0.10 to FLTK 1.1.2.
- MacOS X graphics window is resizable now.
- This version includes an improved AMBER (4,5,6) plugin for the older
versions of AMBER prior to AMBER 7.
- Updated version of the "NewRibbons" representation.
- On-the-fly trajectory smoothing feature (found in the representations
menu in a new "smoothing" tab)
- New Python interfaces.
- Various OpenGL renderer improvements.
Let us know what you think of the new version.
Thanks,
John Stone
