Russia and the
United States.
Rumors of important interactional intrigues and treaties have so numerous and so unreliable of that we cannot put faith in this.
But is precisely such an alliance, offensive and defensive, as we should like to see. should at once settle the policy of Western Powers of
Europe, and the of the present struggle should assume shape and proportions of precedented magnitude.
The world be startled at them.
The issues on such a scale could not long and would no doubt be settled a favor of the peace and security of the world from the unscrupulousness, the atrocities, and brutalities of the worst members of the family of civilized nations.
However, let us not look for these alliances.
They are not impossible, but improbable.
