[Pending the taking of the vote on Mr. Seddon's resolution in the House of Delegates on Saturday, relative to the identification of the interests of Virginia with those of the Southern States, Mr. Robertson stated (with leave) that he had tendered his hearty concurrence in the resolution, if modified so as to assert a thorough identification of the interests of Virginia with the Southern States on all questions that might arise, involving the institution of slavery, or the rights and interests of slaveholding States as such; but that the thorough identification of the interests of this State with those of the cotton States, on other questions, did not exist, and he would, on that account, decline voting.]
