Okemos, -1886

Indian chief; nephew of Pontiac (q. v.). When a boy he fought the Americans under Arthur St. Clair and Anthony Wayne, and took an active part in the War of 1812, receiving a severe wound in the attack on Fort Meigs. He died in Lansing, Mich., December. 1886, probably much over 100 years of age. [15]
