Clark, Thomas 1787-1860

Author; born in Lancaster, Pa., in 1787; educated at St. Mary's College, in Baltimore; made an assistant topographical engineer, with the rank of captain, April 1, 1813; served in the War of 1812-15, in building defences on the Delaware River; and after the war devoted himself to literature. His publications include Naval history of the United States from the commencement of the Revolutionary War; and Sketches of the naval history of the United States. He died in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1860.
