VERRUCINI

Eth. VERRUCINI, Eth. VERRUCIUS a Gallic people near the Alps in the Provincia. Pliny (3.4) says: “Regio Camatullicorum, dein Suelteri, supraque Verrucini.” [CAMATULLICI; SUELTERI.] There is nothing to guide us in fixing the position of the Verrucini, except their position with respect to these two other tribes, and the fact that there is a place named V/érignon, between Draguignan and Riez. Draguignan is in the department of Var, and Riez is on the site of Reii [REII APOLLINARES].
