TUBURBO MAJUS

TUBURBO MAJUS and MINUS (Θουβουρβώ, Ptol. 4.3.35), two neighbouring towns in the interior of Byzacium. The latter is still; called Tebourba; the former is variously identified with Tubersole and Zaghouan. Pliny (5.4. s. 4) writes the name Tuburbis. (Itin. Ant. pp. 44, 48; Tab. Pent.)
