SUCRON

SUCRON (Σουκρων, Strab. iii. p.158), a town of the Edetani in Hispania Tarraconensis, on the river of the same name, midway between Carthago Nova and the river Iberus. (Itin. Ant. p. 400; cf. Cic. Balb. s; Liv. 28.24, 29.19; App. BC 1.110; Plut. Sert. 19, &c.) It was already destroyed in the time of Pliny (3.3. s. 4). Variously placed at Alcira, Sueca, and Cullera. (Cf. Florez, Esp. Sagr. v. p. 35; Marca, Hisp. 2.5.)
