SUCIDAVA

SUCIDAVA (Σουκίδαυα, Ptol. 3.10.11), a town in Moesia Inferior, between Durostorum and Axiopolis. (Itin. Ant. p. 224; Tab. Pent.; Not. Imp.) Procopius calls it Συκιδάβα (de Aed. 4.7. p. 298, ed. Bonn) and Σικίβιδα (Ib. p. 291). Variously identified with Osenik, or Assenik, and Satonou.
