A.of or for a farmyard (v. “χόρτος1):—χιτὼν χ. a shaggy coat of skins worn by the actor who played Silenus, expld. by μαλλωτός, D.H.7.72, cf. Ael.VH3.40: generally, rough coarse coat, Ar.Fr.707a, Hsch.
II. χορταία, (sc. γῆ), pasture-land POxy.2113.19 (iv A. D., written κορτ-).
