ἒ ἔ , or repeated ἒ ἒ ἒ ἔ , an exclamation of pain or grief;
A.woe! woe! A.Ag.1114, etc.; always doubled either once or twice and better written ἐέ (as in cod. Med. of A. and S.), or (where the metre requires an iambus) “ἐή” S.OC149; but ἠέ cod. Med. in A.Th.966.
