4. concede, allow, c. inf., suffer or allow a person to do, “ἀ. τισὶ αὐτονομεῖσθαι” Th.1.144, cf. 3.36; “εἰ δὲ τοῖς μὲν . . ἐπιτάττειν ἀποδώσετε” D.2.30; “ἀ. κολάζειν” Id.23.56; “τῷ δικαστηρίῳ ἀποδίδοται τοῦ φόνου τὰς δίκας δικάζειν” Lys.1.30; “ἀ. τινὶ ζητεῖν” Arist.Pol.1341b30, cf.
