ἐκρέω , pf. -ερρύηκα (v. infr.) : aor. Pass. ἐξερρύην in act. sense, Hp. Aph.6.27, Pl.R.452d, Dor. 3sg. -ερρύα IG4.952.3 (Epid.):—
A.flow out or forth, “ἐκ δ᾽ αἷμα μέλαν ῥέε” Il.21.119 ; “ἔκ τινος” Pl.Phd.112a; of streams, “ἐ. ἐς θάλασσαν” Hdt.2.20; ἐ. ἔξω ib.149.
2. of feathers, fall off, “ἐξερρύηκε τὰ πτερά” Ar.Av.104; of hair,Arist.HA518a32.
b. shed fruit, “ἐκρυήσεται ἡ ἐλαία” LXX De.28.40.
3. metaph., melt or fall away, disappear, Pl.R.452d, Thg.130e; ἐξερρύησαν οἱ τοῦ Θεμιστοκλέους λόγοι τῶν Ἑλλήνων they faded from their memory, Plu. Them.12.
II. c. acc. cogn., shed, let fall, “χάριν ἐξέρρευσας” AP11.374 (Maced.).
