II. causal, teach, Hom. only in redupl. aor. 2 δέδαε he taught, c. dupl. acc., “ὃν Ἥφαιστος δέδαεν . . παντοίην τέχνηνOd.6.233, cf. 8.448, 23.160; “ἔργα δ᾽ Ἀθηναίη δέδαε κλυτὰ ἐργάζεσθαι20.72, cf. Theoc.24.129 (v.l. ἔδαεν); 3pl. “δέδαονHsch.; also δάε, ἔδαε, A.R.1.724,4.989.—The pres. in this sense is supplied by διδάσκω.
