ἀποψάω , fut. -ήσω: impf. 3sg.
A.“ἀπέψη” E.IT311(Elmsl.: ἀπέψα codd., cf. Hsch.): aor. “ἀπέψησα” Dsc.1.68.8, Luc.Gall.6.
I. c. acc. rei, wipe off, ἀφρόν τ᾽ ἀπέψη E.l.c.; “δάκρυ” AP5.65（Rufin.), cf. Nonn. D.8.205:—Med., wipe or rub off from oneself, τι Ar.Eq.572.
2. ἀ. νούσους cure diseases, of Apollo, Herod.4.17.
II. c. acc. pers., wipe clean, Ar.Lys.1035:—Med. (v.ψάω) wipe oneself, wipe one's nose, μου πρὸς τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀποψῶ wipe your nose on my head, Id.Eq.910; podicem detergere, “ἀποψώμεσθα” Id.Pl.817; “ἀπεψησάμην” Id.Ra.490; “ἀ.τὴν χεῖρα εἴς τι” X.Cyr.1.3.5; prov. “τὴν κόνιν ἀποψησάμενος ἀγωνίζεσθαι” renew the struggle, Eust.1327.29.
III. τὰ ἐπιτήδεια σφόδρα ἀποψῶν giving short measure, of a skinflint, Thphr.Char.30.11.
