The North Carolina election.
The soldiers of North Carolina in the field, camps, and hospitals, voted yesterday for Governor of that State.
The candidates are the present incumbent, Governor Z. B. Vance, and Mr. W. W. Holden, editor of the Standard newspaper, printed at Raleigh, N. C. The latter is known as the "peace" candiNorth Carolina in the field, camps, and hospitals, voted yesterday for Governor of that State.

The latter is known as the "peace" candidate, and, from the samples of the army vote we have received, would seem to be about as thoroughly defeated as any candidate for office who has been before the people lately.
Those citizens of North Carolina who are at home will vote on the 4th of August.
