Patriotism in Pittsylvania. --The ladies of the Straitstone section of our county have evinced a spirit of patriotism peculiar alone to the ladies. On the eve of the departure of Capt. S. T. Mustain's company, it was announced that funds were needed for the purpose of ministering to the wants and comforts of the company in the coming trials and privations that await the soldier in the field and camp. The sum requisite not being made up in current coin, many of the ladies present contributed of the jewels they wore on that occasion all that they considered ornamental, and with glowing cheek and patriotic devotion laid them eagerly upon the common altar Southern independence.--Danville Reg.
