A Valuable substitute.
--The Societe Industrielle de Mullhouse recently offered a prize of £700 to any one who would utilize a cheap and efficient substitute for albumen, of which so large a quantity is used in calico printing.
This substitute has been found by M. Hannon in the gluten of wheat lour, which is almost a waste product in the manufacture of starch.
