--The ship Erie, of Fair Haven, Mass., arrived at New Bedford on the 28th ult., being the first of the whaling fleet to arrive.
She brings 2,900 barrels of whale oil, and the blubber of a sperm whale, caught a few days ago on the southern edge of the Gulf Stream.
