The runaway darkeys were sent to jail to be called for by their owners.--Littleton Epes, a Petersburg free negro, living here contrary to law, and although a register was committed.--Nelson, slave of Dr. Haxall, arrested for breaking into John Boucher's storehouse, was examined and an alibi proved in his case, whereupon Absalom, Dr. Trent's man, who had given the most important evidence against him, received an order entitling him to 25 lashes.--One or two particle for allowing nuisances, and two for huckstering, were fined.
