House,) where the enemy were collected in considerable force, with the supposed intention of moving on ng, and preparations were at once made for an advance. At daylight the next morning the column reached the vicinity of Pearisburg, the enemy's pickets were driven in, and a general firing commenced. The only forces mentioned by the writer as beeft. Our correspondent states that great satisfaction was manifested by the citizens of Pearisburg and neighborhood at being relieved of the presence of the enemy.
