The 14th North Carolina Regiment.
A portion of the 14th North Carolina Regiment arrived in Petersburg a few days ago, and in a short time the entire regiment will take up winter quarters at the "Model Farm," about two miles from that city, where the buildings are large and in excellent condition, and will accommodate a great many men.--A correspondent says the men appeared very much worsted, on account of the hardships, privations, and sickness they were compelled to undergo in Western Virginia, where upwards of one hundred of their number died.

Gen. Floyd's army ordered to Bawling Green.
The army of General Floyd, recently ordered to Newbern, Pulaski county, has now been ordered to Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Those regiments of Southern troops which recently belonged to this command were lately ordered to Charleston, and are now enrowe thitner.
The Western Virginia regiments, which constitute the command of General Floyd proper, are now ordered to Bowling Green, with the exception of a single one, which is to go to Lewisburg.
The removal of this army to the far west leaves a very large portion of Virginia exposed to the enemy.
The effect upon the temper of the people in the exposed counties will be extremely untoward.
