Referred. Mr. Bell, of Mo., presented a bill entitled an 'Act to provide for the raising and organising, in the State of Missouri, of additional troops for the Provisional army. Communication is established on the Nashville and Louisville railroad, the rivers being crossed in boats. A strong force is at Munfordville and Bowling Green. Three thousand guerrillas, under Quantrell, attacked a large body of Missouri militia, near Lexington, on the 19th, killing three hundred and capturing the balance. Many arms, stores, &c., were taken. The Yankee commander, Maj. Emery S. Foster, was mortally wounded. There was great excitement at St. Louis. Many guerrilla heads were hovering about within ten of fifteen miles of St Louis. Butler is to be relieved from the command of New Orleans. Dix succeeds him.
