aves and Hickman counties, Kentucky, were passing within eight miles of this place southward, under one Capt. Binfield, who had taken the oath some time since at Hickman. Colonel Harris, commander of the post, immediately ordered out company C, Captain Fullerton, Second Illinois cavalry, in pursuit. The Colonel accompanied the expedition in person.
