The question of the adoption of the resolutions were discussed at great length. After considerable discussion, the resolutions were agreed to by the following vote: Ayes--Messrs. Brown, Burnett, Caperton, Clark, Haynes, Henry, Johnson, of Ark., Maxwell, Oldham, Orr, Reade, Semmes, Simms, Sparrow and Wigfall--15. Noes--Messrs. Hill, Hunter, Jemison, Johnson, of Georgia and Phelan--6. The following are the committee's resolutions. Resolved, That in the opinion of the Senate, A C Myers is now Quartermaster General of the Confederate States Army, and is by law authorized and required to discharge the duties thereof. Resolved, That R. Lawton is not authorized by law to discharge the duties of said office. On motion of Mr. Clark, the Senate adjourned.
