Mayor's Court, yesterday.
--Hezekiah Scott, a free negro, was ordered thirty-nine lashes for cursing a white man, named William Tenant.--Page Walker was called up, his Honor thinking that his imbecility might have been caused by liquor, but was not punished.
He was arrested for walking on the roof, and near the eves, of his dwelling-house, to the disturbance of the neighborhood. --Monroe Jordan, free negro, was ordered to be whipped for being drunk and disorderly. --Dennis Lynch, charged with assaulting Cora A. E. Carter, a free negress, was discharged.--James Finnegan, arrested for being drunk and lying on a sidewalk, was discharged.--Daniel Ryan was also discharged.
His offence was similar to that of Finnegan.--Martin Connelly, a drunken and disorderly soldier, was committed to jail to await the orders of his officers.--William, a slave of Daniel Trueheart, was sentenced to be whipped for resisting an officer who ordered him to stop smoking in the streets.--The case of Riddel
