A scene in Church --Attempt to Rob a Contribution Bac.--A decently dressed young man, named Alex'r Rudd, was arrested in New Orleans on Thursday, for attempting to rob the contribution box of St. Patrick's Church. When discovered, an infuriated crowd of Irishmen, who were worshiping, made a rush at him with cries of vengeance, and he fled up the aisle and took refuge behind the altar, from which sanctuary he was taken by the police, who were called in, and who had much ado to save him.
