Pink Mull and John Wesley Elias Harper, were sent on to the Hustings Court for stealing 16 yards of calico from Leopold Rose. The evidence showed that the prisoner and this man went into Rose's on Monday to price some calicoes. Mull slipped a roll under his coat and went out. Two men who were watching him from the street attracted Mrs. Rose's attention to the theft, and caught Mull, when Mrs. R. came out and took the calico from him. Wesley ran off, but came to the watch house to see Multi, and being caught by officer Jenkins in the act of smuggling a bottle of whiskey to Mull, was taken into custody. In his pockets were Mull, was taken into custody. In his pockets were found $50 and a gold watch, and in one of his socks, $130. The accused were sent on to the Hustings Court, and also for stealing on the same day a ham of bacon from Geo Volker. Wesley has but recently been released from the penitentiary. Bartho
