--At a meeting of Company "I," held at their armory on Tuesday night last, the following gentlemen were elected for the ensuing year: 1st Sergeant, D. A. Tyree; 2d Sergeant, G. W. Jas. D. Browne is appointed Ensign, vice R. A. E. Dabney resigned in consequence of ill health.

--William, slave of R. F. Morriss, was punished with ten stripes, by order of Alderman Sanxay yesterday, for stealing an umbrella from A. A. Hughes.

Burglary.
--Beverly Treanox, slave of John W. Davies, and John Cooley, a free negro, were examined before the Mayor, Saturday, on a charge of breaking into the smoke house of R. F. Morriss, with intent to commit larceny, and remanded for trial.
Runaway.
--one thousand dollars Reward for my Carpenter, John Blackburne, delivered to me in Richmond.
He left Colonel R. F. Morriss's farm, in the county of Henrico, on the 1st instant.
He is about five feet seven inches high, quite black, very intelligent, reads and writes quite well, and is about thirty years of age. Charles Y. Morriss. se 5--2aw2w
