Runaway Apprehended. --Some time in September, a mulatto boy, about 14 years old, was taken up near Bum; ass's turn-out by me. As the jailors of Hanover and Louisa declined receiving him on account of the condition of their jails, I have kept him near me. His hair is nearly straight; says he belongs to Wm Watts, and reports his name Jack. If the owner will pay the cost of this advertisement, and prove his title to the boy, he will be delivered up. laneous. A telegram from Knoxville, dated the 25th, reports a fight "today," in which a rebel force of 5,000 lost 300 killed, wounded and prisoners. Gen. Wolford recaptured his wagon train, but lost his battery. "Our loss," says the dispatch, "is about 300. " It adds that Gen. Sanders had driven the rebels below Philadelphia. [This telegram is evidently intended to describe the thrashing that Wolford got on the 21st ult., where he lost his artillery.] "Passon" Brownlow and Representative Maynard were addressing the people of East Tennessee. At Knoxville they spoke to 28,000 people, and were received with enthusiasm. The steamer Mist, bound from Helena to Memphis, was boarded by guerillas on the 21st, robbed of $20,000 and then burnt, with her cargo of cotton. disappeared in Chattanooga on Saturday, and there seems to be a considerable diminution of the Federal force at that point. Bragg is on the qui vive. There was heavy firing all day yesterday, (Sunday.) This was done to cover the movements of the Federals. It is thought that Grant wishes to relieve Burnside, and hence is sending troops towards Knoxville while making a diversion in the direction of Rome. Our lines in front of Chattanooga are entrenched, and we need only leave a small force there, reduced as the enemy reduces the garrison. The Register contains the following telegram dated London, Tenn., the 21st inst.: Burnside burned twenty-five houses along the railroad last night fronting our lines. The machine shops and the Humphrey's House is supposed to be burned. Burnside charged Longstreet's right and was repulsed. Longstreet opened from our batteries and silenced them. Great confusion prevails in the Yankee camps. Brownlow and Maynard have gone to Kentucky.
