Mr. Bright presented a joint resolution of the Indiana Legislature, praying Congress to call a National Convention. The Senate then went into Executive session, during which Charles Francis Adams, of Massachusetts, was nominated Minister to England; Mr. Dayton, of New Jersey, Minister to France; Mr. Marsh, of Vermont, Minister to Sardinia; J. Watson Webb, of New York, Minister to Turkey. The nomination of Mr. Dayton was confirmed.
