Had on when she left a blue Virginia cloth dress; apron somewhat similar, purple gingham handkerchief around her neck; and has a large mole on the neck.
Said negro has a down cast loos; is 45 years old; a dark mulatto, and speaks grundy and mutteringly when spoken to. If found, or any information, address. R. I. Rice, Leigh, st, between 2d and 3d oc 29--2t*

Mayor's Court.
--Wm. Brown, arrested for aiding and abetting Wm. N. Miller in obtaining goods and money from King & Lambeth.
by false pretences, was honorably discharged on Saturday.
Michael McCarthy was acquitted of the charge of threatening to shoot Robert olden and wife.
James Sullivan alias Michael Leary, charged with fighting in the street, was remanded for trial.
Jerry Donahoe, included in the same warrant, was discharged.
Barnett Loving, charged with assaulting Anthony Brady, was required to give surety for his good behavior.
Maria, a slave, was ordered twenty-five lashes for assaulting a white person; and Washington, slave of David Baker, fifteen for stealing provisions from the Exchange Hotel.
Some other trifling cases were disposed of.

--Ranaway, on last Thursday morning, my negro man, Frank Cheatham.
He has been driving a furniture wagon for T. W. Keesee for three of four years. said negro is a about 35 years old has a down look, rather stammering when spoken to; is a stout, square-built man, dark brown color, about 5 feet 4 inches high Sal.
negro is thought to be lurking about the city.
He has a wife living in an alley between 4th and 5th streets, on Leigh.
He may very probably have been furnished with a pass, and no doubt will attempt to make his way to the enemy's lines.
I will give the above reward if delivered to me, or to Thos. W. Keesee, corner of 12th and Cary streets, or lodged in any jail so that I can get him again.

Mr. Wilson, of Maria, from the Military Committee, reported back the the acceptance of 200,000 more troops.
Mr. Sumner, (rep.,) of that the Secretary of War be requested to communicate to the Senate copies of any instructions to Generals, in of the of August, 12th, the slaves employed against the United States by their masters also, to inform the Senate whether any stops have been taken to make that slain to effective, Said over.
Also a resolution, that in the prosecution of the present war for the suppression of the present wicked rebellion, the time has come for the Government of the United States to appeal to the loyalty of the whole people everywhere, especially to the rebel and class, to make

--Left my house Friday night last, a negro woman named Maria, about the medium size, black, about 25 years old. She may be lurking about Sidney, near my house, or she may be making her way to Petersburg, where she has a husband.
I will pay the above reward for her return to me, or secured so I get her again.
