Hemphill Jones, a special agent of this Department. Breshwood instantly replied :--Your letter, with one of the 19th of January from the Honorable Secretary of the Treasury, I have duly received, and, in reply, refuse to obey the order. Jones immediately communicated tJones immediately communicated the fact of this refusal to the Secretary, by telegraph, and informed him that Collector Hatch sustained the action of the rebel. Dix instantly telegraphed back, saying:--Tell Lieutenant Caldwell to arrest Captain Breshwood, assume command of the cutter, and obey the order through you.
