--The charge against John Green, of shooting at Wm. Jenkins, a Louisiana volunteer, and seriously wounding him, a week since, at the mouth of the alley leading from Franklin street to the Central Depot, was called up for examination before the Mayor yesterday, but was continued on account of the absence of the wounded man, who is now under treatment at the Louisiana Hospital.
It will be remembered that after the commission of the act, Green was arrested and carried to the cage by Wm. McDonald, who has since been sent to jail for the larceny of a Colt's navy pistol.
