The capture of Newbern --Jas. S c lately Colonel of the 85th regiment, N. C. Y., takes issue in some important points with the official report of General L. O'B. Branch, concerning the battle of Newbern, and pledges himself to prove, as soon as circumstances permit investigation, "That the battle of Newbern was lost, 1st. By drunkenness. 2d.
