The subscriber begs to return his acknowledgments to his friends and patrons for their favors during the past six years, and would inform them that he still continues the business of Hiring Out Negroes, Renting Out Houses, Collecting Claims, and all business pertaining to a General Agency, to all of which he gives good fire, free of charge. Walks about the city. --We mean the sidewalks. Their muddy condition for some days has been a subject of deep-seated and terrible indignation, and to none more so than the ladies. The pavement across Council Chamber Hill has received more anathemas than would fill Webster's Enlarged Dictionary; for even when other sidewalks have yielded to the drying influence of yonder great luminary, that has continued to exhibit a dreary extent of clay and mud, even though many thousand pounds of it have adhered to the boots of unoffending citizens, and been transferred to adjacent streets.
