d Union vote here, which will range to 70, all told. No important move has taken place here since my letter of yesterday. The firing which I mentioned as going on at 10 A. M. yesterday, was not from Sewell's Point as I supposed, but is said to have been a salute at Old Point, probably in honor of one of the Lincoln General recently ordered to that post. Yesterday afternoon there was a flag presentation at the Pinner's Point battery. It was a flag presented by the ladies through Miss Henry, to the Old Dominion Guards, of whom the whole- souled Kearus is Captain. There was a crowd of men and pretty women there. After the presentation there was exercising at the battery by the Guards, and several shots fired at a projection of one of the sunken vessels, distant about a mile. The shots were well aimed and would have told had an enemy been the object. The Petersburg train brought to Norfolk yesterday an able-bodied gang of negro laborers to do work on the harbor defences
The Walker Legion. --Several immaterial errors crept into our notice of the arrival of the Second Regiment of Tennessee Volunteers (Walker Legion, Colonel Bate.) The following is a correct list of the company officers: Company A, Capt. S. N. White, Rutherford county; Company B. Capt. Anderson, Maury county; Company C, Capt.Chancy, Davidson county; Company D, Capt. Henry, Sumner county; Company E, Capt. Hunt, Shelby county; Company F, Capt. T. D. White, Rutherford county; Company G, Capt. Earthman, Davidson county; Company H, Capt. Dennison, Bedford county; Company I, Capt. Tynex, Sumner county; Company K, Capt. H. Bate, Sumner county. Col. White, who was mentioned as with the Legion and as having two sons therein, one a captain and one a private, is from Rutherford county, instead of Sumner, as stated in our first notice.
