Fatal shell explosion. --Mr. William S. Dupree, of this city, was instantly killed on Saturday by the accidental explosion of a shell at one of the batteries on the northside of James river. He was in the act of removing the deadly missile from one place to another, when it slipped out of his hands, and falling on the , suddenly exploded. Mr. Dupree was the senior member of the firm of Dupree, Fondren & known commission merchants of this place.
