The advantages offered by the Government has induced a very large number to ship in the Navy. Crews were shipped in Boston for the ships Constellation and Constitution, packets for Liverpool, who have been detained waiting for them. Wages to Liverpool and Havre are $18 per month, with $25 to $30 advance; to the West Indies, $15 per month, with from $18 to $20 advance. Hon. Edward Everett delivered his lecture on the war before a large audience, at Brooklyn, on Friday night After the lecture it was announced that the Hon. Henry Winter Davis. of Maryland, would deliver an advance at the Academy within a week or two.
