Doc. 7.-message of Governor Letcher. Executive Department, Jan. 6, 1862. Gentlemen of the Senate and House of Delegates: I received from his Excellency Joseph E. Brown, Governor of the State of Georgia, a communication enclosing joint resolutions adopted by the Legislature of that State, and approved December 11, 1861. but I do so under the conviction that you will be pleased to learn the action of Georgia on the important subject to which they relate. Very respectfully, Joseph E. Brown. Joint resolutions of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia, passed at its late session. Resolved, by the Senate and House of Representativ down arms until peace is established on the basis of the foregoing resolutions. Warren Aiken, Speaker of the House of Representatives. L.
