The comet. --This celestial visitor is still visible. It was first observed at Washington on the 30th of June, when it was regarded "as an auroral beam. " On the 2nd of July its tail extended to a distance of 80 or 85 degrees. Prof. Bond, of the Cambridge University, pronounces this comet to be different from that of 1264 and 1556, or any other whose return has been anticipated. Its triac, he says, extends over 106 degrees. Its name is, therefore, yet to be given. Meanwhile, his cometship moving tail foremost between the Great and Little Bear constellations, with prodigious velocity.
