he fight, cheering their men, who behaved as gallantly as troops under the same circumstances could possibly have done. You witnessed this conflict, however, and are probably better prepared to describe it than I am myself. My regiment by your order bivouacked upon this hill, where we remained during the night and rose with the determination of renewing the attack, when we learned the enemy had surrendered. Captain Beckham, Lieutenants Brown, Keith, Harrison, Myers, Briggs, Davis, and Bandy, deserve mention for their unceasing attention to their men during the whole day, and I feel proud I have received this positive evidence of their good qualities as officers. Lieutenants Taylor and Rogers, in command of a company, behaved gallantly during the day. Below you have a list of casualties in my regiment: Co. A, Captain Morton Commanding. Badly wounded — John Harl, James McDonald, Samuel Graham. Slightly wounded — Henry Hunter, Lawson Matthews, Moreus D. Matthews, Rumsey Sm

Bandy is one of the games played by boys which is prohibited in the streets by city ordinance, but which is now becoming very fashionable and per consequence a great nuisance. The police have undertaken to put a stop to it at once, and will arrest the players on sight.
Playing Bandy in the streets has caused several boys to be arrested by the police and punished by their parents. Yesterday the Mayor fined four citizens for allowing their sons to indulge in this dangerous pastime in the public highways, and the police were ordered to bring in all parties hereafter caught in the game.
