The following business was disposed of yesterday.
The proceeding against James Gunn, for permitting his slave Frank to go at large, was dismissed on motion of the Attorney for the Commonwealth; also, a similar proceeding against Robert P. Southall.
John A. H. R. Armistead, charged with stealing $450 worth of clothing from William S. Tupman, on the 10th day of September 1861, was set to the bar, and the Court having heard the evidence, remanded him for final trial before Judge Lyons, in November next.
William P. Armistead, charged with receiving a lot of stolen goods from John A. H. R. Armistead, was arraigned, and a nolle prosequi having been entered, the accused was released from custody.

Patriotic contributions for the army.
Since our last report, on the 12th inst., the register at the Passport Office exhibits a vast, amount of volunteer contributions of clothing for the army, from Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, and other States.
The aggregate up to Monday night last was $396,891, since which time the following have been forwarded:
C. C. Anderson, $2,000 worth boots for 14th Virginia.
L. Vels Jos. Martin, James L. Barrow, and Joseph O. Hall, $6,000, clothing to 11th North Carolina:
Samuel Brown, Wm. Schafer, and J. J. Martin, $1,200, clothing to 12th North Carolina.
J. S. Bullock, $2,351, clothing to 9th Georgia.
R. P. Baker, $ clothing to 6th Alabama.
E. C. ndiff, $ clothing to 14th Virginia.
A. B. Fitzgerald, $400, clothing to 38th Virginia.
J. B. Goodman, $700, clothing to 14th Virginia.
Dr. Hatton, $400, clothing to 3d South Carolina.
Michael King $350, clothing to 20th Georgia.
