The Baltimore Exchange publishes the following extract from a private letter received in that city from a Baltimorean now at Montgomery, Alabama, under date of April 11: "It seems that after all there is to be war. You cannot imagine how anxious the people are for it. The feeling among them is unanimous on the subject, and they will give up every dollar they possess to support the Government. I came down on the train with a preacher, who told me he was ready to sacrifice everything he possessed, and, if necessary, his services will be readily given, to fight or anything else. It is wonderful to see a nation so enthusiastically unanimous. Even the blacks seem to be infected with the war spirit, and can, I have no doubt, be relied upon at home and in the fight.
