To the Editor of the Richmond Dispatch: I write this to the Mayor of the city of Richmond, and respectfully, yet earnestly, ask you to call his attention to it through your columns. Why are so many Gambling Hells allowed to gape for the unwary and unsuspecting? The city of Richmond is full of them — they line Main street.--they can be stumbled on anywhere. My son, a mere lad, was fleeced in one of them of several thousand dollars. If the Mayor of the city of Richmond desires it, I will name the place and parties.
