General Assembly of Virginia.Senate. Thursday, Feb. 6, 1862. The Senate was called to order at the usual hour by Mr. Coghill, of Amherst. Prayer by the Rev. Dr. Moore, of the First Presbyterian Church. A communication was received from the House of Delegates announcing the concurrence of that body in the Senate's amendment to the joint resolution in relation to impressments, and the passage of Senate bill exempting from taxation the seal of courts attached to papers or records for the recovery of wages of other dues of deceased soldiers, and to refund the tax heretofore paid. Mr. Thompson asked the chairman of the Committee on Retrenchment, &c., what progress had been made in the matter under investigation? Mr. Robertson said that various causes had conspired to prevent such progress as was desirable, but he would say that a report would be made at as early a day as practicable.
