, a few rods back from the main road. This was a plank house, so called, with the sills above the floors, and was built probably before 1700. Captain Isaac Gleason, Captain Isaac Gleason was Assessor 1772-76, and Selectman 1778-80. licensed in 1766, was for a time landlord here, and it was known as Gleason's Tavern. He afterwards kept the Cutting Tavern, and at the time of his death was keeping still another on the lot below Church Street, where Colonel David Townsend resided.
