the bombardment — a mine sprung — a dead failure, &c. Jackson, Miss., June 29.
--Advices from Vicksburg received, here say there is no change in the state of affairs there.
On the night of the 21st the enemy sprung a mine to blow up an angle of our works, which was a complete failure, and killed a number of their own men.
The Vicksburg Citizen of the 16th, 18th, and 23d, is received.
It says for twenty-eight days an incessant shower of shells has rained upon the city, numbering at the lowest estimate 150,000, and but three casualties have occurred.
The streets are daily filled with people, including women and children, who walk about free from danger.
On Tuesday, while the edition of the Citizen was being worked off, a 13-inch shell passed through the office, scattering the cases of type, but injuring no one.
One of the enemy's gunboats is fact aground below the city.

--From the subscriber, on the night of the night of the 29th of June, my negro boy Walker, about five feet high, brown complexion, full head of hair, rather about built; had on boots, dark pants.
white woolen coat, and hat bound with blue, and blue-striped cotton shirt, said boy was bought in this city on the 24th of June. He was brought from Clarke county, in the Valley of Virginia and was formerly owned by Dr. Smith, of the above named Canty.

Confederate victories in Louisiana--capture of 1,000 prisoners, &c. Jackson, June 29th
--Official dispatches from Gen. Dick Taylor, dated Alexandria, La., 26th, say he stormed and carried at the point of the bayonet, with unloaded guns, the enemy's position at Berwick's Bay, capturing over 1,000 prisoners, 10 heavy guns, and a large amount of stores.
Their loss in killed and wounded is not known.
The same dispatch says their position at Thibodaux was also carried, by whom it is not enables us to cut off Banks's supplies.
Lt. Wilson, with a volunteer company, captured Capt. Manners and his entire party of 53 man, after killing four who burned the train of cars at Brookhaven a few days since.

--The New Orleans True Della, of the 24th, contains a report of a fight at Lafouchie Crossing, La., on the 23d.
The Federal force engaged was six regiments. --The Confederate force is not stated.
The Confederates charged and capture
