The Center for Research on Parallel Computation (CRPC), one of 25 NSF-funded Science and
Technology Centers, is a consortium that includes Argonne National Laboratory, the California Institute of Technology, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Rice University, Syracuse University, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Texas. Indiana University, the Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (ICASE), the University of Illinois, and the University of Maryland are affiliated sites. The CRPC is committed to a program of research that will make parallel systems truly usable - as usable as sequential computer systems are today. CRPC research focuses on developing algorithms that are portable across several parallel machines and providing compiler, editing, and debugging tools to make parallel machines easier to program.
